I arrived in Texas late Saturday morning. And my new home for the next three months awaiting around mid-afternoon. My goal for this segment was to avoid toll roads and Houston and hit this area during non-peak traffic. As it turned out, I hit all the tolls roads, drove right through Houston with all of the traffic. And they don’t take cash and I couldn’t find a place to buy a toll tag, so I guess I’m getting the bill in the mail.
I just realized in all of this drama that I haven’t yet received my registration paperwork for the truck and the camper. I’m going to have to figure that one out soon as I’m entering my grace period.
The new campground is nice, but much more compact than Oz. I think the size if probably 1/3 the size of oz, but there doesn’t appear to be much land that isn’t used for RV spots. People have been friendly, for the most part and the perms seem to be much more integrated with the transients here, which I kinda like. They evidently get a lot of weekend day business from Houston, which is less than an hour away.

I got most everything set up on Saturday, got a pizza from the restaurant, and took a soak in their huge hot tub. They had Bingo at the pool in the evening and a hosted bar with music after. I’m guessing the hosted bar is because they don’t have a liquor license, but I’m not sure.

Sunday I went to College Station (Texas A&M University) to stock up on groceries and supplies. And by supplies I mean sparkly lights and wine.
One luxury I won’t have here is having my truck right next to the camper. They have a separate spot for cars. I’m used to keeping a lot of things in the truck that I don’t need everyday but I think I’m going to have to keep some of that here in the camper.
Goal for the week is to get those O2 sensors on the truck becuase it’s still giving me problems. The weird thing is that it only gives me problems right after I’ve gotten gas or when the gas supply is low and fuel injector cleaner and gas treatment seem to fix the issue.
